English Ver

Hello! I’m a self-proclaimed otaku university student!!

This time, I attended a Vaundy live concert, so I’m writing a review about it! It was such an unforgettable experience, and I’ll do my best to convey my excitement!

※I’ve included the setlist at the end, so if you want to avoid spoilers, skip that part!

Who is Vaundy?

Vaundy is a rising star in the Japanese music scene, known for his unique sound, genre-defying style, and incredible versatility as an artist. At just 20 years old when he debuted, Vaundy quickly gained attention for writing, composing, and producing all of his music independently, showcasing a level of creativity far beyond his years.

Vaundy’s music blends elements of pop, rock, electronic, and indie genres, creating tracks that are both innovative and universally appealing. His ability to seamlessly shift from heartfelt ballads to energetic anthems makes him a standout artist in today’s music landscape.

Why is Vaundy Popular?

  • Relatable Lyrics: Many of his songs explore themes like youth, love, and self-discovery, which resonate deeply with fans.
  • Addictive Melodies: His tracks are catchy yet emotionally rich, leaving a lasting impression.
  • Live Performances: Vaundy’s concerts are known for their high energy, stunning visuals, and the way he connects with the audience.

Popular Tracks

If you’re new to Vaundy, here are some must-listen songs:

  • “Tokyo Flash”: A groovy track that captures the essence of modern Tokyo nights.
  • “Odoriko”: A fun and rhythmic song with a nostalgic feel.
  • “Kaijuu no Hanauta”: A powerful anthem that showcases his dynamic vocal range.
  • “Fukakouryoku”: A hauntingly beautiful track that highlights his lyrical depth.

One standout track is “CHAINSAW BLOOD”, which was featured as the opening theme for the hit anime Chainsaw Man. This song perfectly captures the raw energy and intensity of the show, leaving listeners absolutely electrified. If you’re looking for a song that embodies both power and emotion, this is the one to start with!

Global Reach

Despite being relatively new, Vaundy has already made a name for himself internationally, thanks to his tracks being featured in anime, TV shows, and commercials. His songs have a universal appeal that transcends language barriers, making him a favorite among global listeners exploring J-Pop and indie music.

Recently, I had the chance to attend one of his live concerts, and it was nothing short of amazing! From the powerful sound to the visual effects, it was an experience I’ll never forget.

In this post, I’ll share my live concert report to give you a sense of what it’s like to witness Vaundy in action. Stick around to the end—you won’t want to miss it!

About the Merchandise

The concert doors opened at 5 PM, with the show starting at 7 PM, so I arrived at Saitama Super Arena around 4 PM.

When I got to the station, I thought of using the restroom there, but the lines were crazy long. Instead, I went to a nearby shopping mall. The restrooms there weren’t crowded, and I was able to finish in about 2–3 minutes. Highly recommend using the shopping mall restrooms instead of the station ones!

After that, I decided to line up for the merchandise. When I reached the area in front of the venue, I was amazed by the massive crowd, and the merch line was super long. I was worried I might not be able to buy what I wanted, but after waiting about 15 minutes, I managed to get the hoodie and other items I wanted without anything being sold out! Phew!

Since there was still some time before the doors opened, I decided to line up for a photo with the Vaundy panel. This, however, ended up taking around an hour and a half! It got darker and colder, and I was tempted to give up midway, but I stuck it out and got the staff to take my picture.

Reflection on the photo experience: Since there were lots of people waiting behind us, I only asked the staff to take 2–3 quick shots of me standing in front of the panel. However, looking back, I think I could’ve asked them to take some sitting-down poses or other angles too. Some groups ahead of us got more variety in their photos, so next time, I’ll try different poses!

The Concert Begins!

Finally, it was time to go inside! Because I spent so much time at the panel, I entered the venue around 6:30 PM.

After standing outside for so long, my bladder was about to give up on me, so I rushed straight to the restroom, worried about how crowded it might be. To my surprise, it wasn’t crowded at all! Thank goodness!

Relieved, I made my way to my seat, and guess what? I was in the arena section! I was super excited as I sat down, and wow, the seats were much closer to the stage than I expected!

While waiting for the concert to start, I took some pictures and felt like time flew by. Before I knew it, it was showtime!

Right from the opening, the sound quality was incredible! The bass was so powerful it felt like it reverberated in my brain, and with the lighting effects, I was already pumped before Vaundy even started singing!

For me, the best part was the flow from Soramimi to CHAINSAW BLOOD to Kaijuu no Hanauta. It felt like a festival, with nonstop jumping, singing along, and pure hype. I didn’t want it to end!

I’m so grateful to Vaundy for putting on such an incredible live show. Every song was performed with full energy, and I felt compelled to give my all as well. By the end, my voice was completely gone! I have so much respect for Vaundy for singing so many songs with full power.
