Hello! I’m a college student and a proud otaku.
This time, I visited the Sony Park Exhibition, so I’d like to write a report about it!
Every exhibit beautifully showcased the uniqueness of each artist’s music, making it a truly wonderful experience. Also, the admission is free!! So I highly recommend checking it out.
Many visitors came from abroad, and since it’s located right near Ginza Station, it’s easily accessible. If you’re visiting Japan, this is definitely a spot worth stopping by!
The Sony Park staff provided guidance in English, so even if you don’t speak Japanese, you can enjoy the exhibition with ease.

“Before You Visit Sony Park: Discover the Sounds of Vaundy, YOASOBI & Hitsujibungaku”
Tokyo is a city full of creativity, and Sony Park is one of its most unique spots for music and art lovers. Before you visit, there are three artists you should know: Vaundy, YOASOBI, and Hitsujibungaku. Their music represents the fresh and exciting sounds of modern Japan. Let’s take a closer look at why you should listen to them before exploring Sony Park.
Vaundy: A Multi-Talented Sound Creator
Vaundy is a self-produced artist known for his genre-blending sound and innovative production. His music seamlessly fuses rock, pop, funk, and electronic elements, creating songs that feel both nostalgic and fresh.
My top recommendation is “Kaiju no Hanauta.” (怪獣の花唄)This song features powerful rock vocals and dynamic instrumentation, making it a highlight at live performances. His versatility and fearless experimentation continue to push the boundaries of modern Japanese music.
YOASOBI: Bringing Stories to Life Through Music
YOASOBI is a duo known for transforming short stories into captivating music. Their signature sound blends electronic pop with intricate storytelling, creating songs that feel both cinematic and
emotionally immersive.
My top recommendation is “Yoru ni Kakeru.“ (夜に駆ける)This breakout hit showcases their unique style with an infectious melody and fast-paced rhythm, perfectly complementing the song’s deep and dramatic narrative. Their ability to fuse literature and music has set them apart in the J-pop scene, making each release a new experience for listeners.
Hitsujibungaku: Dreamy and Emotional Soundscapes
Hitsujibungaku(羊文学) is an alternative rock band known for their ethereal sound and deeply emotional lyrics. Their music blends shoegaze, indie rock, and post-rock elements, creating a unique atmosphere that resonates with listeners.
My top recommendation is “more than words.“ This song beautifully showcases their signature dreamy guitar tones and emotive vocals, drawing listeners into its melancholic yet uplifting sound. Their ability to convey raw emotions through music makes them one of the most captivating bands in Japan’s indie scene.

□JR About five-minute walk from Central Ticket Gate of JR Yurakucho Station.
□Subway About three-minute walk from Ginza 4-Chome Crossing Ticket Gate of Tokyo Metro Ginza Station (Ginza Line)
About two-minute walk from Central Ticket Gate or Sukiyabashi Crossing Ticket Gate of Ginza Station (Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line/Hibiya Line)
*Connected directly to B9 Exit of underground concourse (Hours: 8:00 am – 10:00 pm)
If you’re coming from the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line “Ginza Station”,☆ the B9 exit is the closest. ☆
You can also take the C2 or C3 exit—the exhibition is just across the crosswalk, so it’s easily accessible from any of these exits!
3.Things I Learned from Actually Visiting
✓Decide on the first place you want to visit in advance.
✓Booking a reservation for 11 AM is a good idea since it’s relatively less crowded, allowing
you to take your time.
✓The Vaundy area on B2F tends to get crowded after 12 PM, so it’s best to check it out early!
Exhibition Details
B2F – “Music comes after a long journey.” / with Vaundy
Visitors receive individual headphones, allowing them to explore the exhibition freely while immersing themselves in the music.
3F – “Semiconductors create new realities.” / with YOASOBI
The song “HEART BEAT”, performed on NHK’s program 18Fes, resonates throughout a dome-shaped space.
4F – “Finance details life.” / with Hitsujibungaku(羊文学)
This space blends sound, light, and water into a mesmerizing atmosphere, featuring the songs “more than words” (the ending theme of Jujutsu Kaisen: Shibuya Incident) and “Hikaru Toki” (the opening theme of The Heike Story).
4. How to Navigate the Sony Park Exhibition on the Day
Near Ginza Station’s B2 exit, there is a line forming in front of a shutter—that’s where I lined up.
If you want to visit Vaundy’s exhibition first, line up in front of the underground shutter. If you prefer to see YOASOBI or Hitsujibungaku’s exhibits first, you will likely need to line up above ground in front of the Sony Park Exhibition fence.
※If you’re unsure where to line up, it’s best to ask the staff—they’ll guide you quickly!

Vaundy’s Program
This time, we first went to Vaundy’s program on B2 floor, which was our main!
Our entry time was 11:00 AM, so we arrived about three minutes before. There were only two people in front of us, so we could enter smoothly without lining up.

At Vaundy’s exhibition, each person receives a headphone, allowing them to listen to music just like in the photo above. There are various genres of music available, including anime songs, Showa-era pop, Western music, country music, and more.Every song had a unique Vaundy-like touch or an unexpected twist, making for a fun and exciting experience full of new discoveries.
When you click on the image above, it will take you to the official YouTube channel, where you can listen to the music. Be sure to check it out!
〇The photo on the right features the song “Rouge no Dengon” (Rouge’s Message). This song was used in a Japanese animated film by Studio Ghibli, a world-famous animation studio. It’s a well-known song in Japan!
Vaundy’s songs have a unique blend of nostalgia and freshness, making them truly special.
Among the many songs I listened to in this program, the one that left the biggest impression on me was “Rouge no Dengon”. It somehow feels similar in style to Vaundy’s own song “Odoriko”, don’t you think?
There was no set path for the program, so we could freely move around and listen to the music. Before we knew it, an hour had flown by! Since more visitors were entering at 12:00 PM, we decided to head to YOASOBI’s program next.

Also, we found a signature in a courtyard-like area, so be sure to check that out too!
YOASOBI’s Program
YOASOBI’s program had a 15-minute session system, where visitors were rotated in groups. Because of this, we had to wait for about 10 minutes until the group before us finished their experience.
About the Experience
First, you will create your own original heartbeat object.
By answering a few questions and having your heartbeat recorded, a cute digital object will be generated.
You can save and take home your generated heartbeat object by scanning the QR code, so be sure to give it a try!

This program is an interactive experience featuring the song “HEARTBEAT”, which was the theme song for “18 Fes”, a program by NHK Japan.During the climax, where 1,000 voices come together, the floor vibrates, and the powerful vocals resonate throughout the dome. The space itself felt playful and vibrant, yet the song carried a strong and lively energy, creating a striking contrast.
It was such an amazing experience that I couldn’t help but applaud when the music ended!

“When you create a heartbeat object, not only your own heartbeat but also those of others spread throughout the dome.”
Hitsujibungaku’s Program
Hitsujibungaku’s program was an immersive experience where music, lyrics, water, and light blended together, drawing visitors into the world of their songs. Similar to YOASOBI’s program, this was a timed-entry experience, lasting about 20 minutes per session. I participated in this program at the very end of our visit, and it felt like the perfect way to wrap up the experience. If you’re looking for a calm and emotional conclusion, we highly recommend saving this for the latter half of your visit.
☆ You can sit and enjoy the show, making it a relaxing experience—even if you’re feeling tired, the 20 minutes will fly by!

The program began with Hitsujibungaku’s song “more than words.“ The delicate vocals intertwined with the sound of water, creating a serene and immersive atmosphere. As the lyrics were projected onto the front screen, their reflection on the water’s surface added a dreamlike quality, allowing visitors to experience the music visually and aurally.
The second song, “Hikaru Toki,“ was particularly moving, with lyrics that deeply resonated. The performance was filled with everything that makes Hitsujibungaku special, delivering an emotional impact so strong that it almost brought tears to my eyes.

After the two songs, visitors can experience Sony’s haptic technology. As you walk across the floor, you’ll feel a unique sensation, as if you’re stepping on the surface of the water—a completely new and immersive experience.
5. Final Thoughts
This experience was even more enjoyable than I had imagined, and it made me appreciate the power of music all over again! Each program—Vaundy, YOASOBI, and Hitsujibungaku—offered a unique way to enjoy their music in a top-tier acoustic environment.
Vaundy’s program showcased the depth and richness of sound, while YOASOBI and Hitsujibungaku’s programs combined music and visuals in a way that enhanced the emotional impact of their songs.
These three programs are running until March 30th, so if you’re interested, be sure to make a reservation and experience them for yourself!
